Faith Challenge

Today's Faith Challenge is "Embracing Your Calling". That is my reason for doing this challenge. I want to discover my calling. Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

If God knows the plan, when is he going to let me know? Has he already told me the plan and I am ignoring it? I hope not. As I continue this challenge I will be praying scripture. My prayers will include Jeremiah 29:11, John 15:16, and Galatians 1:15.

Have you ever read The Prayer of Jabez by Bruce Wilkinson? I have read the book twice and each time I have read it, a calming peace came over my life. I am going to begin reading it again tonight. It is a short, easy read. There are seven chapters so you could read a chapter a night and have a weeks worth of devotionals.

I will say that since I have begun this challenge my life has been calm and I have done a much better job of expressing my faith just through my actions. Hey, maybe that is one of my callings.

I pray that I will be a good Christian example to my students and co-workers. I know that it is a blessing to be with them each day. I am so lucky to work in a loving, Christian environment. I pray that I will be a blessing to each one of them.

Well, it is time to get off the computer, go read my devotional, and get to sleep so I can greet the world with a smile on my face in the morning.

Blessing,
Diane

Attitude

Today's Faith Zone Challenge was all about attitude. I agree that attitude is the name of the game. Doesn't you day go a lot smoother when you have the right attitude? This challenge is designed to help the participant find his/her purpose. If you discover nothing else about yourself, discover that your purpose is to have the right attitude.

It's not to late to begin the challenge for yourself. Scroll down my blog and find the link to Traci Miles' blog.

I am praying that God will help me to have a positive attitude every day of my life.

Blessings,
Diane

Salvation comes from the Lord.

I just have to share the Bible verses I read tonight. I opened my Bible and it took me to Isaiah 40:10. " So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

So much of the time I want to do things my way. I do not put my trust in God. I think I do a better job at making decisions for my life than God does. I know that I am going to have to let God be in control in order for me to find my true purpose. For those that are reading my blog, I ask that you pray for me during my Faith Zone Challenge. Help me to let God be in control of my life. For those that respond to my blog please know that I am praying for you also.

Now my Bible reading did not stop there. I said to myself, "Well, I wonder what tidbit of knowledge God will show me now?" I turned a few pages and stopped at Jonah 2:8-9. (We are all famililar with Jonah and the Whale.)

Jonah 2:8-9 "Those that cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the Lord."

Well now if that was not a slap in the face. Do you know what your worthless idol is? Unfortunately I know what mine is, money. I want to spend my money on what I want. This verse is telling me in order to find my purpose I must give up my worthless idols and spend more "quality" time with the Lord. After all Jonah tells us, "Salvation comes from the Lord."

It is my prayer that you will let God be in control of your life, not your worthless idols.

Blessings,
Diane

Day 4 at Me-Me's

The day started off wonderfully, Logan slept til 8:45 a.m. We spent the day at the house. This morning we went for a walk on the oil road. Logan loves to be outside. I think he would stay out all day if he could. I hope he always likes to be outdoors.

Logan had his first guitar lesson today. He likes to play with Dillon's guitar.

This afternoon we took Logan to see the pigs. These are wild hogs that David caught in a trap. He plans to feed them and then cook them. Doesn't that sound delicious :(.

Logan loves his Pops. When David gets home in the afternoon, Logan immediately goes to David and he will not let David put him down. Logan is afraid David will go outside without him.

Logan also found out that he loves chocolate chip mint ice cream.

Day 3 at Me-Me's

Logan spent the day with Me-Maw. She enjoyed having him for the day. She said he was happy all day! Of course I am sure he got his way all day. She took him for a walk in the stroller. She said he really enjoyed that. Logan loves to be outside.

Day 2 at Me-Me's

Today I celebrated my 49th birthday. I had the best birthday present.... a day with Logan. I hope I will be able to spend all of my birthdays to come with Logan.

Logan did not have the best of days. He has a boo-boo on his eye. He might have a pretty shiner tomorrow. Logan and I were playing and he all of a sudden jumped out of my arms and fell to the floor. I don't know who cried the loudest... me or Logan. I hope Jonathan lets him come back to

Gilmer.

Logan and I went to Wal-Mart today. We also went to my mom and dad's house for supper. Logan ate supper in the high chair that I used when I was a baby. They don't make them like that anymore. Logan ate his food (peas and applesauce), purple hull peas, potatoes and squash. His favorite part of the meal was the chocolate pie!

Dillon loves to play in the bathtub!

One of these days I am going to learn how to make my pictures and my text go together.

Day 1 at Me-Me's

We had a great day! We went to church this morning. Rick-a-daddy came over and Logan got to watch the boys shot their bows. David and Dillon can't wait for Logan to get his first bow. Dillon read books to Logan. He loves to have someone read to him. I hope he always loves reading. We also went to visit Nana and Dadin.
